MAT/CLT correction

Post by 142 guy »

I have done a search for this and have drawn a blank, so I am posting the question.

I understand the principal of the MAT/CLT Correction. My question is the specifics of the calculation. The manual just talks about % CLT blended into the MAT. Does this mean that a % of the CLT is added to the MAT (seems wrong) or that blended means that the corrected MAT is the weighted average of the MAP and CLT with the weighting being determined by the MAT/CLT correction curve? In the case of the latter, a 20% correction value on the curve would mean that the corrected MAT is (0.2 x CLT + 0.8 x MAT)? Or, is the blending equation something else?

I ask because I have done a bunch of measurements on inlet air temp, manifold air temp, coolant temp and engine RPM & MAP. If I know how the equation works it would allow me to make a better preliminary estimate of what the starting values should be for the curve.
