At the moment I have an Acer Aspire One - a few years old - used exclusively for in car tuning. Running Win7. It is OK, except it takes ages to boot even with an SSD. With Xmas coming, I though I might treat myself to a new one. The screen size is 10.1" and wouldn't want anything smaller, but not much larger either.
I'd probably want to stick with Windows being the devil I know. A discrete serial port would be a big bonus too - but I realise that is unlikely.

Re: Which computer?
I just tune with an ASUS T100. Comes with a detachable keyboard. They have a great battery life as well.

Re: Which computer?
Here's a pic of the T100 when I used to use it. I found the 10" touch screen too small.
It fits inside a battery box.
I now use a Dell Inspiron 1525 with SSD & Win10-Pro 64-bit. It's the "master tuner", now. Stays in the car most of the time.
Both pics, the sun is directly hitting the screen.

Re: Which computer?
The T100 is also top heavy if unsupported which can be annoying, but they are still fairly well priced for what they are.
