EGO Control

Post by joelittel »

If my EGO Control dialog box is set to "Disabled" does that mean that my ECU is not looking at the AFR coming from my wideband sensor?

Under what circumstances would I want the EGO to be enabled?

Need to enable if you want to use actual wideband data to be used for live tuning such as when using VEAL. Can still correct VE tables based on logged AFR data but takes more time to do.

My EGO is disabled yet I've been using VEAL. I see the VE table values changing as VEAL does it's thing, and the car has gotten much better to drive over time.

How is this possible if the VEAL isn't looking at actual AFR data from my wideband?

No that was incorrect. Veal can look at and use the AFR table if ego control is disabled. Veal lives in the tuning computer not the ecu. The current AFR is still logged and sent through to the tuner studio dash and veal. The ecu, however can't use the wide band info or try to target the table if ego is disabled. I usually disable ego by leaving it on and just setting the min rpm to 8000 or so.
