it just wont start, and I can't figure out why
Hello everyone,
I'm new here, I am working on microsquirting my 01 ZRX1200r. I have everything hooked up as it should be, but the darn thing just wont start. It tries a couple of times and then it just cranks and cranks with nothing after that. Very aggravating. I have a known working tune loaded in it and it just wont start up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

is there any reason the why the ecu thinks the bike is cranking at 25,000rpm?

Wow....i have no clue, the tach on the tunerstudio dash says 250-350 rpm. Not sure why the logfile would show different

must be a problem with megalog viewer then, have you confirmed that the tooth #1 is correct? do your coils work in test mode? and are they wired per the firing order?
is there any reason to have the second fuel and ignition load turned on? you could set it to 2 squirts alternating as well. and id try turning the sequenced batch fire off

The cranking pulse is pretty lean. Did you see the "tool tip" about most engines needing 100% when hot, and much more when cold?

Well, I dug into it tonight and started doing some testing. The coils are not firing. So, I think if I can figure out why they are not firing, I can get it to start.

What type of signal comes out of the ignition 1 and 2 ouputs (white and white/red)? I have to figure out weather its the ecu, or the quadspark, because all of the wiring is spot on

I'm not familiar with the MicroSquirt, but if those spark outputs are intended to drive the Quadspark, then they will be 0-5V pulses. The pulse width (time it is at 5V) is the coil dwell, the time current is flowing in the coil primary. It is going to be a very short duty-cycle at slow speeds, like cranking or idle, so you can probably only see it on a multimeter as low AC volts.

how are your coils/quad sparks wired? you only mentioned ign1 and ign2 but your msq is set for wasted cop are you using the aled and wled as well?

The ign1 and ign2 are wired to the 4 quadspark inputs then run in wasted spark

wasted spark uses 2 outputs ign1 and ign2, wasted cop uses 4 outputs ign1,ign2,aled,wled but fires them in pairs.

Alright, i have apark....it was my microsquirts fault....firmware bug....reflashed the firmware and bam, i had spark....
