Re: Twin Turbo Delorean Not Starting
Forget my remark on voltage compensation.
Tps signal is now negative at idle, how do you calibrate TPS signal ?
Are you sure there is no mechanical issue like tight throttle cable.
MAP ae is still triggered at fast idle, you only want this when accelrating.
There is in general settings the lag settings for sensors, yours is 95% try setting 70%.

Re: Twin Turbo Delorean Not Starting
all,
please see msl file and msq if needed.
can anyone identify why the engine is idling high in this log? its driving me crazy trying to chase the idle so that it goes back down. It randomly will settle where i want it at 800 rpms but randomly when i rev it at idle it goes back up to 1400 rpms and stays there. i dont understand why it's not staying consistent.
I appreciate any help that can be offered.

Re: Twin Turbo Delorean Not Starting
Too much spark advance in the idle area and MAP/rpm just above idle.

Factory is 13 degrees at 775 rpm. This engine has high lift cams. What do you recommend?billr wrote:Too much spark advance in the idle area and MAP/rpm just above idle.

Re: Twin Turbo Delorean Not Starting
See attached msl. the issue seems to arise once it passes 180 degrees. in this segment the cooling fans were on. if you notice, just at idle it seems to cycle from high to lower rpms with a long duration. also, when i revved it up, it then hung up at 1400 rpms again as before and wouldn't come back down. i changed the ignition and fuel bill as well as tried interpolating the numbers. the problem is still there....
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Twin Turbo Delorean Not Starting
Lower the spark advance in the 35-40kPa cells up to 1500 rpm.
I know what the problem is, just not really sure how to solve it. Once you open the throttle and bring the rpm up, then close the throttle, there is still enough air flow through the throttle to keep it running at 1500 rpm with the spark advance at nearly 40 deg. You need to reduce one or the other (air low or spark advance) so that it can't produce enough power to run at 1500. Either close the throttle stop a bit or reduce spark advance. I'm suggesting spark because it looks kind of high, but the throttle idle-stop should be considered too.

Re: Twin Turbo Delorean Not Starting
I've been on a bit of hiatus with this project as life gets in the way. If there is anyone out there that can take a look, I'd appreciate it. After I determined the car ran ok i took the top end back apart and cleaned out all of the original factory wiring as I was certain I would not go back to a factory setup. I also made some improvements aesthetically. However, something has changed to the behavior of the engine since. Car starts great, idles great. However, ever since I added TPS when I rev it at idle or while driving (see MSLs attached) it is not smooth and there is no power. MSQ attached. I am going to take it to a dynotuner as I want to enjoy driving it rather than mess with it all summer.
Thanks for all of the help with this to all since the beginning of the tune. I appreciate.
Josh
