LS Engine With MS3X Not Pulling Up Top
I'm hoping to get some help for a buddy of mine. He has a LS swapped Camaro. Its a 5.3 with a BW S475. He is running a TH400 with a 3.27 gear. Injectors are ID1000's on E85. Thought he was running out of fuel so installed a Boost a pump and it still falls over up top. Its as though it hits a rev limiter.
Thought it was voltage so replaced alternator and new1/0 wiring. We notice the data logs showed a voltage drop under higher RPM is the reason. Swapped to different coils, played with dwell settings, verified timing with a piston stop, and on and on. He has fought this for 2 years.
Can someone look at the logs and see if something stands out as wrong. Box is a 3.57 board bought new assembled.

How is the tachin to the board configured ? Is that a 24x or 58x engine ?

Re: LS Engine With MS3X Not Pulling Up Top
Its a 24X using the cam input and the wheel code is selected for LS1

Can you post a datalog of a pull as well. Have you verified timing, not in the software but mechanically on the engine? I've seen trigger offsets almost to 7* to get timing correct

Post a run log (MSL)
Is this a 5.3 running E85, as you stated; or a 5.7 running gasoline, as the req_fuel is calculated for?

Re: LS Engine With MS3X Not Pulling Up Top
Its a 5.3 bored to 5.7 on E85. SO he has required fuel setup for gasoline?
It has been verified with a piston stop and was 4 degrees off. That was corrected in the trigger offset.

Re: LS Engine With MS3X Not Pulling Up Top
Yes, 14.7 was used for stoic in "req_fuel" calc, for E85 it should be more like 10, I think.
The only way to verify spark timing is with a strobe light. The piston stop lets you get the reference marks on the crank correct, but tells nothing about spark timing.

Re: LS Engine With MS3X Not Pulling Up Top
The required fuel number is something we have discussed in the past. We are the only ones around this area running MS so info is not easy to come by.
So help me understand what happens if the req fuel is incorrect. Are his VE tables lean or rich. I am also running his tune on my car but I have no issues pulling all the way to 7200rpm. His car has trouble with anything above 14psi on boost.
Timing was verified with a light after he found out he was off 4 degrees.
Thanks for the help guys

Yall should have a SBF in them, then you wouldn't have these problems!!! We are questioning something in the ms3 itself, or possibly valve float(but he does have upgraded dbl springs).

Re: LS Engine With MS3X Not Pulling Up Top
It's beneficial to have reqfuel correct. But with it low, the fuel tables values can be made higher to make up for it. The scaling will just no off is all. What do the logs say, is he running lean under boost?
