Dodge V6 Crank Trigger

Post by DBL.DWN »

hey all,

I'm thinking of installing a MSII on my 01 Dakota Dakota with a Magnum v6 239ci. I've read before that these motors have a odd crank trigger but I can not find out what they use. Does anyone know what the window/spacing is for this motor? and of so, Is there software now they can run with this crank trigger or must I use a 36-1 wheel?

Thanks.

These use a total of nine teeth on the crank - it is something that would look like six teeth spaced 60 degrees apart, except two of the sets of teeth are in pairs, sort of like a six cylinder version of the Viper V10 configuration. This appears to have been done for the same reason as both the V6 and the V10 are odd fire. As with Vipers, there's a one tooth cam (distributor) trigger. The 3.9 Magnum pattern would require a custom decoder, which so far has not been written.

That's what I figured. Looks like i'll be ordering a trigger wheel. I'll have to find what size will work.

Thanks for the help.
