VE table values not over 65

Post by lotus23C »

Hi
My VE table cell values don't go over 65 and it's a fairly flat above 100kpa. Logged Injector duty hits around 80% at WOT high revs.
The car runs OK however. Possibly I haven't got the req fuel correct, Should I be concerned?
(1.8t Audi)
thanks

Excellent question Matt, they are bosch orange 315cc @ 3.5bar ev1 from a junk yard volvo, however I am running a higher pressure, 4.5bar from memory. It has been some time since the car has run, so cannot remeber exactly.
I suppose my original question asside, running 80% duty and a higher than rated pressure, realisticly I suppose, I need bigger injectors.

In MS2, half the req fuel then double the VE table values. Only issue will be cranking pulse. Req Fuel value is the base value for the temp correction during cranking. You my need to double the cranking pulse % to get you back to where your currently at for cranking PW.

As for the VE table flattening out above 100kpa, I see the same thing in my boosted V8. At that point the PW math is most affected by MAP. As the pressure increases so does the PW which requires little to no change in VE value. After I sorted out that the VE values don't change much from 100 to 200 kpa I increased the spread for the rows. My top 3 rows are 200, 150 and 100. Everything below that is 5 to 10% drops to 20% load, ie 90, 80, 75, 70, 65...
