[quote="ol boy"]I ve gone through the steps to become a tester but I haven't got the V2 yet. I've checked my Google account and it says your a tester for msdroid. Is there a different place to find the V2 in Google play. Ever time I search msdroid it pulls up 1.1r.

Thanks Ryan.[/quote

I have the same problem. Even uninstalled and reinstalled from the play store and no go
I originally signed up on a different nexus 7 which was lost on a recent trip. This is a new one, so I wonder if that is the problem?

I did a series of un-sign-up and re-sign up, install and uninstall... Including uninstall, reboot, re install. After that, it worked. I don't know what made it work but that did.

On my Galaxy S4 Mini I joined the group, got the invite, followed the link, and had no problems. It gave me an "Update" option that installed the latest alpha automatically. I will test it with the car this evening.

Will I have to use the modified .ini for the most recent MS2 firmware (3.3.2) or will this automatically detect and work on the alpha?

Thanks again for this - while I find tuning to be awkward on my tiny little screen I love the datalogger in my pocket and the fact that if something isn't running right I can pull over and tune it without having my tablet along!

Hi Rick,

That's a good point - for the V2.x, the modified ini files aren't required. Just use standard files now, which should hopefully be automatically obtained from the MSDroid server for you.

I fired it up and everything works fine. It found the right firmware and loaded up an .ini and the tune and it looks like it auto-saved the tune which is a nice touch.

I like it!

It sucks about the update - the good news, is once I got it 'unstuck' I seem to be getting the updates since without any fuss!

Right now I'd suggest leaving the group, uninstalling, rebooting, rejoining, waiting for confirmation and reinstalling. It really only takes 5 minutes.

In other news, it's been working pretty well - I did have one issue where it just plain gave up - in the middle of a log I noticed it wasn't connected, then the whole program crashed. But I didn't really have enough info to be more descriptive. How is google drive looking? :-)

leaving the testers group a nad rejoining helped me.

now I have v2 beta, but can't connect to MS.

it reads the signature, then it "initializes project" but it takes too much time, and does not seem to move to next step...

So, I've been having this issue with my phone. It's a Nexus5 and should be pretty quick.

Now, the kernal isn't stock (though I've had it the whole time), and there's lot of other useless JUNK on there, so there's no 1:1 relation to MSDroid yet. But I was wondering, does anyone get a thing where their phone just stays locked? I press the hardware button and a few times a day... the phone just sits. It can be a minute till it comes up.

When it does, my task monitor says there's no particular heavy load on CPU or RAM, but it will still be laggy till I get it unlocked.

It could really be anything, but I'm curious if someone else is seeing this. I uninstalled MSDroid and haven't seen a lock since I rebooted... but, my guess is I will. Still, if others are having (or no one is having) the issue, it would be nice to move on to looking for other sources of my problem.

Thanks!

I have yet to get the new version. I've uninstalled 1.1r and reinstalled, left the group, joined the group. Done this a couple of times, still no update.

You'll be happy to hear that my phone freezes and locks even without MSDroid on it, so I was able to put it back on my daily. Yay!

In other news:

1) I've had no issues with updates and such - once it "worked" I've not had to do strange things to get the latest versions (at least, I'm on a3 which I assume is current)
2) I'd like to see a "quit" feature. With the old one, I would see significant battery drain sometimes after a disconnect and I always thought there may have been some logging going on, it would be nice to just know it's unloaded.
3) It picked up my ECU *and* project after the re-install. I don't know if that was local files or getting stuff from dropbox, but it was no trouble at all!

Er, could you explain the directory structure a bit? I thought I had things set up with dropbox, but I can't find a folder in DropBox where I can put my msq where it shows up on my phone for uploading...
