Datalogging without being connected to an ECU

I was trying to data log all the gps data while riding in a friends car. Everything fired up and the gps is working. I had the start log button and msdroid showed it was logging. I went back later to view the log amd it was blank. Can we add a feature down the road to enable all the phones gps and accel data to get saved into a csv or something that can be viewed woth in the app?
