It looks like Dave almost got the code done until I even had time to get my adapter

I will get my adapter probably late this week so I will start testing with him once I get it. Shouldn't be that much longer

Hey all, how goes the code development for ip connectivity?
I want to when I should invest in a wifi dongle!

My understanding from Dave is that's it's working (I've seen a quick demo of it) and it's just being polished off now.

If you haven't bought an adapter yet then it might be a good idea to find out what sort Dave and Seb have been using to develop against.

Where 'polish' is 'rub back down to bare metal, primer, two pack and only then start thinking about the T-Cut'

The UI for entering the address of the dongle needs work still, I'm not convinced the connection is stable, and the read rate right now is very poor. I've been working with one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261243216476. Seb has something different and is having trouble with the serial side of the adapter.

It's coming along, but it won't be here quickly.

It's starting to look like Dave's WiFi driver is possibly almost there, but it's just that the particular WiFi adapter he's got is a bit of a crap one.

It will probably just work for you if you have USB "host" capability or bluetooth.

The code is now under review and if it passes it should be in the next release. However there are other things that need to work before that will happen.

My Road Veles was sent back to Chinavasion in November because the detatchable face stopped illuminating.

It has taken over 2 months to repair but I received notification yesterday that it is back in the post on it's wsy back to me.

What I've dug up in these 2 months is that there appears to be a firmware that will work with a bluetooth dongle plugged into the usb port. It is burried in a post on xda developers and was put up by a russian guy. There are a few options for running it, the normal way is to replace the factory fw with this customised one but you have difficulty backing this method out and risk bricking if things don't go so well. The guy has also published a disk image of the fw that runs off an 8gb micro sd that will slot in behind the stereo face and becomes bootable so you can simply eject the card and it is back to factory. There are a number of respondents stating that it works so I am hopeful that when I get my stereo back in the next couple of weeks that it'll be all go.

It works. Still can't run wifi and bluetooth at the same time but when I plug in a BT adapter to the one USB port it works a treat.
I've ordered a small 2 port hub, should let me run both wifi and bluetooth.

I had to change the language from Russian to English, and uninstall the keyboard app and install the standard Google keyboard via the Playstore. The time and date is still a bit wierd in that through a power cycle it needs to connect to the internet to display the correct time otherwise it goes back to 10:00am in April 2012
