Trans control - 0025 release

Post by jsmcortina »

To announce the 0025 version of the Microsquirt trans code.

Changes since the last release
Revise 4T40E input pattern.
Allow ppm/ppk/driveline for VSS (code from MS3.)
Allow VSS parameters to be updated on the fly, after 'Burn'.
Standard automatic mode also upshifts based on max RPM and blocks downshift if calc RPM in lower gear is too high.

The zip can be downloaded from:
http://www.msextra.com/doc/trans/files/ ... 2-0025.zip
The updated manual is included.

A current TunerStudio is required.

Successes, failures, bug reports and suggestions welcome here.

James

The current revisions to the 4T40E input pattern and VSS are working perfectly. In fact I have the 4T40E working perfectly now. In fact the entire MS3-Pro/V3.0 Microsquirt/AIM Strada dash package is working very very well with only one small issue on the CAN BUS. I am not getting VSS over to the AIM but I think I know why. I have set the AIM to poll the MS3-Pro for all of its data but the 3-Pro gets VSS via CAN from the Microsquirt, something is getting lost in translation. Worst case I guess I can set up the Microsquirt to output a VSS signal to the 3-Pro......

Bottom line, Awesome Job! And thanks a million for all of your help and support on this.

Good news. Please post up some photos and more info in the "Success Stories" section.

The VSS to the dash could be a thorny issue. As far as I'm aware, AIM are using Megasquirt-CAN but since they added the support, the data structure has been re-arranged somewhat. It is possible that the location that they are expecting to find VSS in is now PWSEQ13.

I was wondering about that.....(VSS) I went ahead and set up a 4000ppm output using ALED and a 5V pull-up to Digital frequency in 1 on the 3-pro, it works well too. I have a test or 2 to run still and if I still can't make things work on the dash I will contact AIM and see if it can be resolved at their end.

I will post up a thread in success stories for sure.

Thanks again James

Enough apparently. James, if you can give me the new locations for VSS1 and VSS2 AIM says they can have a fix to me in 24-48 hours.

Code: Select all

   vss1_ms_1        = scalar, U16,  336, "ms-1", 0.1, 0.0 ; see calcs converting this raw number into kph or mph
   vss2_ms_1        = scalar, U16,  338, "ms-1", 0.1, 0.0
Note that these are in metres per second * 10. ie. 123 units is 12.3 ms^-1

This is an extract from the [OutputChannels] section of the ini file.

Finally got the 4L60E up and running, using this code. I've only moved it a little ways under its own power as there are a number of things in the installation I need to sort out. Will post more if I need help with anything.

Known bugs on "Microsquirt V3" hardware setting, now fixed for the next release.
- Analogue gear selector input is on the wrong pin.
- Trans temp input is on the wrong pin.
