4L60E drop on harnesses ready

We now have a drop on MicroSquirt to 4L60E harness for sale, priced at $499. This harness uses fire retardant braided wrap, printed heat shrink lables, and plugs directly into our LSx drop on harnesses for quick hook up. Unused I/O is brought to a motorsports style Amphenol AT connector for clean and reliable connections. Check them out here:

I purchased this about 2 weeks ago, could not get it to communicate with my laptop so I purchased the recommended serial adapter. Still no communication with laptop. I only get to scan serial ports and none found. Error with serial device, Make sure TCU is powered up, com port too high a number com1, somethings hogging the com port and,.....
Has anyone got any tips for me? Old guy could use all the help I can get. I w.ill post a screen shot of error when wife can help me attach

You probably need to choose another COM port #. But 1st post the screen shot when you can so we can better help.

OK.. Screen shot attached...Tried all usb ports... Changed to com1...started as com4....changed to com2...changed to com1...purchased new FTDI serial port adapter...changed laptops, both windows 10..

Is the trans controller in the vehicle all wired up and getting power? Also you have confirmed that your laptop sees the USB to serial converter right? To check right click the Windows logo in the bottom left of your screen and choose Device manager. From there expand Ports (COM and LPT), it kind of sounds like you have because you mention changing the ports, but I want to be sure.

Also, I am pretty sure a rainy day in Maui beats a sunny day in most places

I have tried changing ports. TCU has power and I also have MS3 PRO in the same vehicle that my laptop communicates with ...No problems with MS3

Gotcha, what is shown in device manager when you look at Ports (COM and LPT)?

To verify power to the TCU, measure the voltage on the TPS-VREF wire. If that's close to 5V, then all is good.

Also, do a loop-back test on your USB-serial adapter. This is described from "Communication Issues" here:

0.5V on TPS-VREF ??? You have a short circuit somewhere.
This needs fixing first.
