Retard timing before shift
Hi Guys I have a ms3 pro for my engine and micro for the transmission, I am in the early stages of tuning the engine, the problem I have is with the trans shifting hard, I have 15 degrees of retard timing when shifting I would want more but I dont know if it can accomplish, I data log the transmission and the micron send the shift and retard signal at the same time, it would be possible to control the timing so it retards a fraction of a second before shift and do you guys know if timing can retard more than 15 degrees, I attach engine and transmission file, thanks for your help.

Re: Retard timing before shift
Maybe this one needs a bit less line pressure. Higher line pressure makes for harsher shifts.

Re: Retard timing before shift
The maximum retard is set at 15 degrees in the ini file, which can be edited. However, as Matt says, perhaps you are running too much line pressure.
The timing of solenoids and retard etc. is more flexible in the beta firmware I'm currently working on, which may help you get better shift behaviour.

Re: Retard timing before shift
The next beta version of the transmission control code has more fine-tuning available for shift timings.
