CAN BUS with aftermarket ECU

Post by SMCollins »

I have been doing some research but I wanted to see if anyone had done this. I have a car with AEM product in it now, it runs great, It has a can bus system and I was wondering if I could modify the can message structure in the Megashift to accommodate the AEM can bus data, I have the bus protocol and the data that it sends. I don't need the megashift to do any other work besides shift the transmission. So I was hoping someone might be able to guide me a bit on the feasibility of accomplishing this. Thanks for your time

Would be easier to get a pass through device to get the two to communicate. I do not think the can bus is configurable on the trans control side of things. Someone please corect me if I am wrong.

What data are you trying to send and receive?

I'm unsure of the development and support status of the Megashift.

However, the Microsquirt transmission controller is still under development and could perhaps be adapted.
