MSextra 3.3.3 CAN Broadcasting messages

Post by marclave »

Hello,

I am using msextra 3.3.3 and am trying to send coolant and rpm over CAN. The broadcasting in TunerStudio shows the following identifiers for these messages:

0x280 RPM
0x289 Coolant
0x389 Coolant (Why two?)

So the DBC file provided here (http://www.msextra.com/doc/pdf/Megasqui ... -10-27.dbc) does not line up.

I am trying to also find the exact signal format for coolant and RPM, it appears this page also has different values(http://www.msextra.com/doc/pdf/Megasqui ... adcast.pdf)

Can anyone tell me where an older pdf is for 3.3.3 or the exact message format?

thanks

3.3.3 does not support that kind of broadcasting, you need a 3.4.x version.

The first page of the document says "Megasquirt-2, Microsquirt, MSPNP2, Microsquirt-module based ECUs with
firmware MS2/Extra 3.4.x only."

Hi James,

Skipped the first bit : P Thanks.

But there is still CAN broadcasting functionality for 3.3.3, is there any documentation for the CAN messages anywhere else?

I think I will upgrade tonight, but we have already done a large bulk of our engine tuning on 3.3.3 so I am hesitant to upgrade if not completely necessary ... thanks!

Double check the RELEASE-NOTES.txt but I don't think there are any or many changes that will impact your tune.
