BIP373->logic spark output : Now no RPM

Post by 2swe »

I've just built logic level spark output using TC4427AEPA.

MS2 manual says spark output must be set to "going high", does it mean "spark out inverted - YES" or "NO" in MS1 language ??

BTW: anybody knows correct dwell setings for VAG cops 07K 905 715F ?

Going high = "inverted"

is there any chance TC4427 killed my MS1 processor ??

when cranking, tuner studio sees RPM
but there is no 5 volt square signal on spark outputs, and even worse D14 and D16 do not blink..

EDIT: tuner studio does not see RPM, I've only seen rpm gauge needle moving casually...

tooth log looks good to me, but trigger logger gives empty screen. something wrong with wheel decoder ?

logs attached.

Looks like you need to swap the wires on your VR sensor.
(There's no option to do this in MS1 software.)

I use Hall sensor and custom 36-1 wheel, it worked more than year.

problem began after I removed BIPs and built TC4427 logic level spark output.

is it worth trying to swap the wires from hall sensor ?

right now the U3 opto isolator is powered from 5 volt on proto area, and grounded by hall sensor when "LOW"
should I try to ground U3 through XG1-XG2, and power it from hall using 5 volt when "HIGH" ?

good news, today I tried "MSNS" mode with two teeth wheel (drill bit :), injectors fire, and I have nice square wave signal at top of R26..

solved :)

I cut another tooth, so now I have 36-2 trigger wheel.
the tooth I removed was No.1, now the tooth No.1 is the gap, and first real tooth is No.2, so there is no need changing trigger positions in tuner studio. Am I right ?
