If your asking me...I am using a spare output and the Tach feature of the extra code.

I don't see why you couldn't mount a 2nd VR sensor on the opposite side of the block from stock unless there is something physically in the way. You'd have to drill the block though which would be a pain. It should work for RPM at the very least. The stock computer might throw a code for the cam/crank sensors being out of phase with what it expects, but rpm should still display ok.

Probably the neatest/cleanest solution would be to decode the RPM part of the data stream from the stock computer. Then when the MSII-extra is out add some code to the MSII to drive the stock dash through CAN. Assuming of course the MSII and the stock computer are using the same type of CAN bus.
