The LED should only turn on when the fan is activated.

Did you change LED18 to Output 4 in the Code Config screen? Does your fan turn on when it should?

What is the rest of the circuit you are using led18 to drive? Just a relay for the fan?

yes I just did what everybody said to just fit a wire from the - side of the led to lets said i use x13 to output and from x13 to the relay pin 85,86 and 30 to 12v and 87 to the fan.

pin 87 from the relay to the + of the fan and the other wire that i have free from the fan to ground and the 1n4001 from 85 to 86 pins in the relay the banded side is looking to pin 86.

OK, just making sure, sounds like its time to break out the multi meter and check voltage at the relay and fan. Make sure the relay turns on, maybe its bad. Test the fan and test the relay. Sounds like you have it hooked up correctly. I used a relay from a camaro once and the fan fan drew too much current and burned it out after only a couple runs.

You added the 1k resistor across the LED right? That is the only other thing I see.

like this:

no. but nobody told me that i have to add nothing they just told me to just fit a wire from the -side of the led to 1 of the output x11,12,13 or 14. where i have to put the 1k resistor

I am not sure you have to put it on, you'll have to look on your board a fit it in like the picture shown above, from the - side of the led to the other side of the 330 ohm resistor. Why did we need this again? its been a long day.

so i need to add a 1k resistor from - side of the led to R24.

I don't see why you would need that 1k resistor nor have I ever installed one. All of my boards have tested out fine on my car as well.

You do not need the illustrated 1k resistor when using the output as fan control. That is only relevant for an ignition output going to a module.
You must though, install the 1N4001 across the relay contacts to prevent damage to the transistor.

Thanks James, it didn't seem to be needed for fan control.
