Signature mismatch, but same version in ini and on MS

Post by Jon k »

Noticed it looks like 029q is up - flashed it, reset my base settings (havent actually run the car yet) and everything is fine. I go and set up the LED ouputs to squirt, warm up, and accel, and it seems fine. Close MT, open back up a couple mins later "Signature Mismatch". Shut car off, turn Ign II on, put all LED outputs back to Spark outputs, start car, no issues. Hrm? Just got the unit back from Peter Florance all checked out. With the LEDs set to non spark outputs, everything seems to go fine. I am just testing the unit to see that its reading all sensors etc, it will be controlling only fuel but is not wired to injectors currently.

Also - if car is running with MT open, I shut car off, then start car again, am I supposed to get a RESET?

If you shut the car off then on you have reset the processor so Megatune will correctly show a reset.
What is the exact message about signature mismatch?

James - I will do my best to replicate it, as I am 5 floors up from the car iwth a dead laptop battery.

It said something similar to when you have the wrong Msns-extra ini for the version that is on the ECU.

So, it looked like:

Expected ....-029q
Found .....-029q

Didn't really make any sense to me as it faulted and error yet found the same version as expected.

Those versions are no longer on the MSNS-E download site.

Got a screen capture:

I redownloaded to my laptop, deleting the old flash files, reflashed, and so far have not had any errors.

On it's way to you if you still need it.
I've been too busy to try newer code, but 29L has worked well for me.

Jon k,
you have some data corruption on your serial port. The two strings are not the same - there is some garbage at the start of the "received" one.

Yeah I saw that - I redownloaded and reflashed and so far there has not been an issue - may have been a bad flash?

Weird, but yes, maybe a bad flash.

That is though why I needed to ask for the full error message. Posting the screenshot was a perfect way to do it.

glad to hear everything is sorted now

Yeah - i figured the SS would be best bet - while in car working on it the error had popped up and I had just habitually hit "terminate now" without recordng the error. Screen shots are a real convenient way to do it. The other thing worth mentioning is if you see the background MT, the MAP is a fixed value, doesn't move... the IAT and CLT go to 43 degrees and do not move either. So I think it was a prob with the flash but not sure - so far so good *knocks on wood*
