Usually the sensor for that type of wheel is a VR sensor, correct? The sensor should have only two terminals. You will configure the VR input of the Megasquirt as per the assembly manual input section. You may have to adjust the pots on the Megasquirt to get a consistant VR signal when cranking. You will have to add at least one more high current Ignition driver as called out on the MSnS-extra web site, if it is truely a 60-2 trigger wheel, You setup the wheel decoder for that type of wheel using wasted spark. You can use four high current drivers to run coil on plug, or 1 coil per plug.

Well, that would be rare, but not heard of. Follow the hall sensor tach input instructions and you should be good. (forget about what I said earlier about VR input.) In some ways the hall sensor input is better, it's easy to interface to the Megasquirt, and you get a consistant level output regardless of RPM. :D

just call us Miss Information- it is a vr sensor

--

using MSnS-E, megatune 2.25, v3 main board, code version 029q2

LED17(D14) is set to Spark output A
LED19(D16) is set to Spark output B

when cranking, rpm remains 0 on the display, and neither of these LEDs light up.

pin 7 on the db37 is connected to vr sensor neg
pin 24 is connected to positive on the sensor

we're using pin 29 for cyl 2/3 and 36 for cyl 1/4

i may try moving the crank ground back to the stock harness and remove the ground we wired in the harness, just to remove some of the changes

my question is this: shouldnt the rpm be changing while cranking? all of the other info looks right, afr, tps, etc. the car will not start. with fuel only, it would start and idle fairly well. i'm attaching the new .msq to look at. thanks!
