rotten computers, problems loading MS&S_E to my v3.0

I have a v3.0, built it myself, tested and known to be good. when I go through the download.bat procedure to put megasquirt and spark on it (029m code) I always get an error of "could not open com port 1" tried a few different com ports to no avail. followed the instructions, which are quite simple, to a T.

any ideas? THe unit runs fine in megatune 2.25 and its set to comport1 there, so I dunno.

oh, my laptop is a P233 dell lattitude running windows XP incase that helps.

Make sure you're not using some other software that has com1 open (as in megatune or hyperterminal. If thats not the case, right click on "my computer" then go to properties. Make sure com1 doesn't have an '!' by it or something.

yup, Im an idiot. I just minimized megatune and it was still running. my bad. thanks.
