ms1 v3 build with msns-e and edis.... jumper query step 2

Post by alladdin »

hope this is the correct post area....
ok.im at the ignition jumper stage. looking at my "msns-e edis section notes" i see its 2 steps.
step 1, pull up res and put saw to pin 36 .. seems clear.
step 2, here im confused. notes say
remove c30,d1,d2. replace r12 . first point.... i didnt install these as im using vr circuit. do i need any of them in? r12?
second point. jumpers.
notes say.. jumper tachsel to xg1, opto out to tsel.
now ive jumped tachsel to vrin already for vr
and tsel to vrout for vr.
do i add the extra jumpers as well?

hope you guys can help out here... mike. :RTFM:

OK, first forget about using the VR circuit. I am sure you can use it, but it has little testing with EDIS and MSnS-extra.

You have an EDIS module that you are hooking up?

The opto circuit uses far fewer componants than the VR input, if you really are using EDIS you don't need it.

The circuit looks like this -

Optionally you could install jumpers in place of D1 and D2, and jumper S12 to OPTOIN, instead of the jumper from S12 to C30.

If you use the Opto circuit you are installng five componants, versus ~16 parts for the Vr circuit.
