Having trouble selecting msm-extra.ini.029q in Megatune Conf

Post by the brit »

It seems to keep resorting back to msns-extra.ini, which therefore gives an array of error messages when starting up Megatune. Since upgrading (from non-running unknown older version), Megatune has also become unstable and will randomly crash after a while of inactivity.

(I'm hoping the crashing is a related side effect.)

As a complete newbie, am i missing something simple? I followed the installation/upgrade instructions pretty accurately.

MS2.2 from DIYAutotune running MSnS 029q2 with Megatune version from Feb/2/2006.

TIA!
1993 VW Fox, 1.8L 16v, Jenvey direct-to-head ITBs, VW 20vT Injectors (310cc), Bosch temp sensors, rover k-series TPS, Inn. LC-1.
MSnSe029q2, MT2.25.
Following Duffman Wiring diagram, VW Ignition module, stock Distributor.
Complete & utter MS newb.

There is no error code in MegaTune Configurator - it just won't 'Activate' the 029q2 code when i tell it to under the File>Activate.

+msns-extra.ini will always stay activated.
+msns-extra.ini.029q will not appear as activated at all.

After attempting this, if Megatune is run the following will appear:

"Warning: msns-extra.ini:0082 - Conditional Check references undefined value 'MPXH6300A'. Only first reference will be reported"
It will also give the same message but report the value "alpha N", and an array of o2 sensors as well.

I assume this is because i have 029q2 on the megasquirt, but the wrong version loaded in Megatune, which is a version that i have not setup for my hardware.

I have tried reinstalling MT, and may try starting from scratch with everything after RTFMing again at work tonight.

Thanks for your help!

This sounds like the correct behaviour. All it does to "Activate" is copy msns-extra.ini.029q to msns-extra.ini
After attempting this, if Megatune is run the following will appear:

"Warning: msns-extra.ini:0082 - Conditional Check references undefined value 'MPXH6300A'. Only first reference will be reported"

This sounds more like a problem with your settings.ini

Try creating a new project in the Megatune configurator e.g. car2 and select that when you start Megatune.
