The IDM drives the little VDO tach I have now but I want to mount a 5-inch tach in place of my current speedo and a 3-1/8 speedo where my tach currently is.

Since VDO doesn't make any 5-inch in-dash tachs (that I could find), I'm thinking of this one from Autometer:

Has anyone run this particular tach, or any Autometer tach, with the IDM? My harness doesn't even have a CTO connection.

EDIT: Did a little better search and found this nugget:
On my EDIS 4 Pin 11 or pin 2 (CTO) will not drive my Autometer tach.

Doesn't help you anymore, but it's rather easy to move the IDM pin and wire to the CTO slot. The CTO is often not used or even open originally but it's easy to drill open.
