Ok so I have two packages here - I bought the DIY Autotune kit which has a ZTX688b and a resistor to control a Ford IAC but says it can do a bosch valve. I also ordered a TIP122 and a 50w 40ohm resistor as per Extra website -
I am trying to control a Bosch 3-wire valve... which method should I use? Which is more reliable? The TIP122 method looks straight forward except it says "put a diode across the valve" and I am not sure what that means - where would I do that?
PWM idle assembly...

If you get this working please let me know. I've been trying to get a 3 wire isv working for quite some time now. I keep getting different answers regarding the 3 wire install.
Some people say that you don't need the resister across the wires and some say you do. I also keep getting different specs for the resister that goes on the ground wire as well. At the moment the 3 wire isv doesn't seem to be to documented.
