How to create an XML format MSQ?

Post by Saab-Daniel »

Hi guys.
I've just updated from an old MSnS code (believe it was 024s) and to the lates 029q2.
I've read the readme-file over and over and search the forums, but can't seem to figure out, how I can create an XML-format MSQ-file!
I've saved my latest msq from before my update, renamed directories etc. I've downloaded the latest version of MT 2.25, also I've loaded the code into my MS-unit. MT starts fine, and I can get in contact with MS like always. I just can't seem to load my old msq-file into the ms-unit. Can someone help me, so I can just load my old settings? Really don't want to re-type my tables again...
I've saved my old version of MT, so I can use that again, in case everything else goes south, but really want to use the new code, since it's there... :)
Thanks a lot for your reply,

Daniel.

Did you read "upgrading.txt" ? This tells you what to do.

File->SaveAs in recent Megatune releases all use the XML format.

Ok, I have been using 2.25B 514 before, and it's this msq-file I'm trying to re-load into the new code...!

This is the warning I get, when I try to load the file:

Should I just accept, and read the file?

With the Megasquirt off.
Use the Megatune configurator to Activate the msns-extra.ini.024s file. Then open your old MSQ in Megatune and SaveAs a new name.
Then use the configurator again to Activate msns-extra.ini.029q.
Turn on your Megasquirt and open the new MSQ you just saved.

You will need to check all values and rekey the warmup as that doesn't transfer over unless you edit the MSQ file between save and load.
