Is 18G OK for shielded wiring?

I'm just wondering if using 18g wire for the shielded applications will be ok. Ie: sensor pick up etc.
'65 VW Bus with a Subaru EJ20 Turbo conversion , Air to water I/C , LS coils , 14Point7 Spartan 2 & Solid Air Fuel Ratio 52mm gauge.

Yes - they carry very little power for signals so 18ga is overkill in itself. Image
