IT WORKS!!!! :)

Post by speedfreaq »

 it fired up on the first try whopppeeee...

Car: Toyota Starlet
Engine: (5efe) 1500cc, 365cc injectors, IHI turbo, 10psi.

MS: running MSnS Extra 029q2
Wheel decoder: missing teeth. (two opposing teeth cut from the NE wheel) G1/G2 teeth removed.

it started and idled well with the generated VE and Spark tables....

i have just imported some new tables which are copies of neil85ae86 hope you don't mind me using your tables? but they really were a great help....

it is now running and boosting rather well...
i am using D14 to drive my ignitor. i have shorted out D14 and ran a wire from the shorted point to my ignitor.
dwell settings are:
cranking 1.0
running 2.5
min. dis. 1.0

my problem is this: it seems to me that the ignitor is running a bit hot (really warm) do you guys see anything wrong with my setup?

next: i am running low impendance injectors:
my PWM% is now at 30 but even when set lower (even as low as 10) it does not seem to affect the idle???
if injector opening time goes below 1.0 then car struggles at idle.
PWM time treshold only affects idle when it goes down to 0.8

Is your 'Spark Output' setting to normal or inverted? I know my MR2 needs this set to Normal, but that may be different on your car. You want to use a multimeter with the key in the on position to measure DC voltage across the + and - terminals of the coil. There should be NOTHING, if you see anything, even like .01 volts, then your coil is charging without the engine running and that will burn up your ignitor or coil eventually.

Note the engine may runn different if you change this-- trigger offset may need to be tweaked to fix that....

OK voltage across the coil terminals was 11.6V
i fixed that by running the coil + wire from the fuel pump relay

but now the voltage across the coil terminals read 0.03V
how do i fix this problem QUICKLY!!

car is running great!!! i have now put quite a few miles on the MS
there is a slight stumbling at about 2000RPM when cruising and my Acel. Enrich. needs to be tuned....
