Firmware update question

Post by 1seymour »

before this happened, i had the car starting and idling fine.

just to make sure my air temp sensor was set right, i updated the firmware with the same version that was already on it (029q2) using easytherm (after re-entering the temp sensor info). after this i opened up megatune and loaded the msq i had just used before that and chose to upload all settings into ms.

afterwards, my spark output isn't steady. it's missing a beat somehow.. like firing every other time it hits plug 1 according to my timing light. also, it will run but it's missing pretty bad. all of the settings look good in megatune for spark and match what i used prior to updating the firmware.

any ideas?

ms-I v3, mt 2.25, code 029q2

What firmware were you running before? Did you read "upgrading.txt" and have you reviewed all of the settings in Megatune?

it was just a blown fuse. odd timing though.. might have been related to powering up without my pwm settings in place and then loading them after the fuse was toast. 5amp fuse in line with my injector power line.
i've had that one blow before but not certain if it was after an update or not.

Sounds like the fuse is doing its job though.

It is likely worthwhile to pull fuses and fuel pump relay before upgrading the firmware.
