Leave it set to Dizzy(MSnS)
All HEI7 really adds is the bypass output.

Great to hear about your success Angel!

Now it doesn't seem so strange when I got there and said "I didn't know you could use a 4 pin HEI to VR condition".

Phew!
Glad you got that sorted.

There were/are people using the 4pin with success but others have had the same issues as you.

What would any of us do without you James? Would we actually have to use the search feature?? ;)

Thanks for helping Angel out. Sounds like it's running pretty well on the base MS default tune and we'll get it tuned up to some nice HP next time I go down there. 8)

Hi jsmcortina
I have just read this post on the 7 pin VR triger.

My Q is if i run my wastspark on my V2.2 board, will this setup work
with 7 pin VR setup as explained in this post.

I do not believe that anyone has tried to run the HEI7 with a multi-toothed wheel. They were not designed for that signal so it might not work. I use the LM1815 circuit on my car.

Thanks James

All I want it for, is a VR picup signel for the VR +& - senser.
I will set one up on my test center, and see how it responds over the
weekend or so.

Many Thanks

I think what James is referring to is the maximum tooth count a HEI can handle in a certain amount of time. The thread is talking about a 2 tooth trigger per revolution which is now being conditioned by a 7 pin HEI. However, to do a wasted spark setup, you'd need at least double the teeth (minus one or plus a cam angle sensor) to do it so that's 4 teeth per revolution of the motor and I'm not sure if the HEI can handle that at lets say 7k rpm.

James, am I correctly on this? Any chance you could find a link to a thread which discusses this? I've tried to search before to greaten my understanding on the subject of maxing out a HEI's resolution but haven't been able to find any which specifically discussed it (probably burried in a thread somewhere?).

I'd suggest you start a new thread in this forum to discuss it. List your vehicle, motor, ignition trigger type, and any component between the ignition trigger and the MS.

From your sig it doesn't appear you have a 4AGE motor so it doesn't really apply to this thread.
