I’m running MS-1, v-3.0 with the relay board, MSnS-E 029q2, firing EDIS. The Tacho Output pin runs my Autometer tach and I’m also utilizing cooling fan control. I am not using the Fast Idle so that circuit is available for whatever… The engine is an N/A inline 6 cylinder Datsun L-28 in our SCCA Solo-II Datsun 240-Z http://www.msefi.com/viewtopic.php?t=15436
The car is up and running and at this point I am very pleased with the MS control. I am going to use my innovate LM-1 data logger to fine tune my MS project which will be data logging RPM, MAP, and o-2 via Wide Band. My plan is to use a separate MAP sensor, (GM Map sensor) for my MAP measurements, (I’ll calibrate its reading for cross referencing to the MS MAP), and I will tap into the tacho signal for RPM.
I need a +5v source to power the GM MAP sensor. I’ve searched the forum and can’t find any info on pulling a separate +5v power source from MS. I’ve thought about just tapping into the +5v ref from the TPS to power my GM MAP sensor, but I don’t want it to possibly “skew” the TPS signal going back to MS.
My question….
1) Is it possible to get another +5v power source from MS? Preferably out of one of the extra outputs or even the F/Idle relay on my relay board which is not being used for anything currently?
2) Is it possible to tap into the +5v ref for the TPS to power the GM MAP sensor and not appreciably affect the TPS signal being read by the MS controller?
Thanks guys,
Paul
How do I get an extra +5v ref from MS?

Using the TPS +5v supply should work fine.
