It seems the wireing for my fan control is causing a backfeed which causes my MS to reset.
At least that's what I'm thinking.
I do have a scope, so where exactly should I scope on the transistor, and if there is some interference, would a cap between the legs of the transistor to ground help?

Did you fit the 1N4001 diode? Either on board to +12v or across the relay terminals.
