Testing my board- HELP!!

I am having problems getting the board to work... I connected the Stimulator and then the battery. The lights did not flash, and the battery overheated... Help me. I am a novice. I am almost 100% sure that there are no shorts, and I am pretty sure that I installed all of the components correctly. I did Jumper D2 as the troubleshooting directions said. What else can I do?

I have Megasquirt I with Version 3

check the regulator, I had one that was shorted
