MSnS-E specific tuning Q's/Wideband

Post by bmacf »

Hey everyone, I've been using my MSnS-E setup with 024s for a while now and just added an LC-1 wideband gauge. MS reads the LC-1 pretty well (Megatune readings very close to what the XD-16 gauge shows). Researching MSEFI.com really helped on the install. My emissions test is two weeks away and I'm getting a little nervous about the progress of my tuning. What I've tried to research on the forum and come up short is two different issues (below).

Question 1: I'm trying to tune my VE maps using MegaTune's Autotune feature, but my LC-1 continues to read a fairly steady rich reading (12 or so) from idle throughout the rev range. I would use some of the tuning programs to look at my logs and recommend map changes, but it looks like they do not work with our MSnS-E maps. Can somebody who uses MSnS-E point me in the right direction (surely there is a good previous post).

Question 2: Regarding AFR tables, I see in MegaTune under the Fuel Basics menu that I have the option to use target AFR tables, but I cannot for the life of me find how to create the AFR tables. I see other MSnS-E folk using such tables so we must have the capability - can somebody point me in the right direction on how to create the tables.

I'd appreciate any help on these two newbie issues. It always seems to be the small simple stuff regarding MS that slows me up.

Thanks,
Bill in Maryland

over in one of the left most menus is a function to turn
on the use of the afr target table function. then the afr
table will be enabled i nthe other menu and you can then
edit the tale to put in the valuves desired.

In MD eh? where? I'm just south of BWI airport myself
and have my ms up and running these days.

If you don't have the target AFR set up, then autotune wouldn't work because it dosn't know what target to tune for.

Man do I ever feel stupid. That sure was a simple fix. Now I'm set to use the AFR tables. I'll give it a try this afternoon. The values I put into the AFR tables came from this post:

...particularly the post from captain16vgti (thanks).

Very nice triumph you have there Paul T. Good to know I have a MSNS-E neighbor. I'm over in Gaithersburg.

Thanks for the help. And any recommendations on the settings I should use to tune the VE maps via Autotune would be most welcomed.
