Werid timing issue?

Post by amd is the best »

I'm not quite sure how long the car has been doing this but I just noticed today that the timing was not following my map. I have my idle advance set at 9 degrees and it idles perfectly at 9. When I drive it the timing map goes to about 30 degrees but the gauge only goes to about 20. Cruise should be between 25-30 and its at like 17-21. I have no idea why it would be pulling the timing. Also when I set the fixed angle it works fine, whether I set it to 10 or 25, the gauge reads the same. Nick

Just wondering if you were using a distributor or wheel decoder, etc. Are you sure your dizzy weights are fixed? And no vacuum connection?
