spark output & LED 17/18/19 question

Post by hobieboy »

I have set up my MSv3.0 with MSnSE (29q) using 36-1 wheel & 6 VB921 to drive a twin plug 6 cylinder set up per the MSnSE site instructions.

I am getting no sparks and I noticed that during cranking, none of the front panel LEDs would light up. Are they still supposed to flash as the coil is triggered?

thanks.

Please use 029q2 instead of 029q as the thermister tables are incorrect in 029q.

Yes the LEDs should flash in sequence. Do you get rpm in Megatune?

James,

Oops - yes, I'm using 29q2.

And yes, I get very stable cranking RPM.
I looked at the new plugs I put in - no sign of sparking but I can smell fuel. I also tried attaching the plug to the wire but not the car and I still dont see any sparks from the plug.

Any suggestion on where to start debugging?

thanks.

ok - I have resolved the LED issue... a reload fixed that.

I have started a new thread in the Ignition tuning/troubleshooting section as it is definitely an ignition problem now.

The thread is here: http://www.msefi.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21071
