using firmware 029j1 and also with 029q2 on a MS1 V3 on a 20v using a 24-2 toothed wheel on the camshaft.
We have the megasquirt assembled using the one onboard vb921 and an additional 921 for doing wasted spark on his 4age 20v..
When we turn off wheel decoder we can actually see rpm signal, (although it's somewhat erratic, jumping from 250ish to 1500 RPM, messing with the pot's onboard calms it down but it still spikes the odd time..) everything else shows fine, pulswidth, etc all shows fine when cranking
When we turn on wheel decoder, rpm dies, map shows either 77 kpa or 189 constant and wont move and none of the other features work.. we have pretty much isolated it directly to the wheel decoder function. It also kills all our lights on the megasquirt.. turning it off makes it resume as normal...
Would it be something that we are missing we thought that it might be that we are tying to use the onboard vb921... would we have to add an additional vb instead of the onboard
All of our jumpers appear to be correct for everything else..
I can provide a msq.. but it's pretty bare bones, all we have added in was the triggers and fuel req and enabled wheel decoder.
Turning on wheel decoder makes MS do weird things, help?

Does the fuel pump turn on and off by chance? If yes then you have made a configuration error. See the "fuel pump turns on and off" sticky post.
