Multispark discharge without an MSD box?

Post by olie05 »

Hello everyone,

I am working on a COP setupwith MSnSE and I'm wondering if there is a way to do multi spark discharge on 4 individual coils for low engine speeds. Would this be more of a code modification or a hardware mod (if even possible)?

Don't want to rely on MSD products.

Thanks!

Hi Oliver -

You should be able to use two parallel EDIS4 modules with a 4-cylinder COP setup. EDIS4 after 1993 IIRC has multispark capability and is configurable in Extra. Someone here has done it although I don't remember who that was.

thanks for the reply, David.

This is for a 600 f4i engine, and we already have the coils that came with the engine, I was just wondering if it would be possible to do this with the vb921 coil drivers.

If all else fails, and we want to use Multispark edis seems like the easiest way to go.
