anyone with any ideas about this phenomena please post here with possible solutions..

Everything works, car starts great, very good crisp throttle response, but car backfires and stutters after around 4k. Been a few of this with this problem on and off it seems for a while...

I am currently looking at this for solutions:

They have a LOT of good info on the issues of running the lm1815 with a missing tooth wheel and all the problems..

They have had many instances of errors above about 3k on missing tooth/VR combos..
