Very weird log - it looks like the signal sometimes drops out completely. Maybe a bad solder joint in the RPM input circuit?

This is a Super420a unit from RS-A. I can try to reflow the solder points for the input circuit and see if it helps.

Any chance you could explain what you found in the logs to indicate the signal is dropping out completely? Here is a small snippet of the log. It would appear the numbers indicated below are the ones in question, but I'm really not sure what I'm looking at other than a value of time in micro seconds.

That is correct; it's tooth time in microseconds. And 2,440,100 microseconds is like an eternity when it comes to the times you should be seeing. That's a loss of signal for over 2 seconds.

Got it.

I reheated two points that I feel my equipment can safely do. Anything more then these two and I'll have to get it back over to RSA.
I'll let you know how it goes after I drive my car to school tonight.

Here's a pic of the two points I attempted:

Looks like the tach input circuit is some sort of proprietary RS Autosport deal. Unfortunately, I have no information about what they used, and I'm not sure RS Autosport is still in business.

Yea, its proprietary and most people I spoken to suggest removing it to allow the upgrade to MS3. I may end up sending this unit out for that upgrade, specially since I really want a working IAC so I don't kill the motor when I turn the AC on at idle.

As for the resolder last night... A new tooth log shows the same "glitch" as before. What I do not understand is how the MS unit can go two seconds between crank signals and remain running. Error control of some kind?
