controller voltage too low to reliably flash

MS was working with 029y4 firmware, now I am trying to change it to high-res. I used easytherm to send the high-res firmware but when I run the associated Megatune and try to load an MSQ I get this error message.

Are you using the correct ini file to match the firmware?

The msns-extra.ini says "last edited for version hr_10a and MT2.25 (release)" but the archive contains firmware hr_10g. Not sure if this is correct but I`m assuming it is since it came out of the same archive?

I noticed that with the high-res firmware loaded, in Megatune under the realtime display the battery voltage readout is cycling from min to max and back again multiple times per second.

I tried downloading hr_11d and sticking it in there but megatune spit out a pile of errors with that ini file.

That's certainly going to cause a problem.

The strange battery voltage reading was caused by the dirty power coming out of the battery charger that I was using as a power supply to test outside of the car. 470uF capacitor fixed that. Doesn`t explain why I couldn`t flash it when it was in the car, which was the original problem.

But it is now flashed with hr_10g, and quite drivable.

You were getting the low voltage warning when you tried to flash the ECU in the car? What was the battery voltage?

That`s correct. I don`t remember what the battery voltage was but it was enough to start the engine so I wouldn`t have expected it to be a problem.
