I am converting my bmw E12 to megasquirt at this very moment.
My project is about half done. My E12 has the 2 liter 6 cylinder engine, but basics are realy the same.
At this moment the engine is running spark on the megasquirt, but still running its gasoline slurping Solex 4 barel carburettor.

I have redesigned the MS2-V3 board to my needs and designed a new PCB for it. going to run fuel and spark. spark in wasted spark mode, injection in semi-sequential mode. Therefore 3 injector banks are needed and ofcource 3 coil drivers. the PCB also offers a driver for the 3 wire idle valve and a knock detector circuit.

I've also bought a donor engine to spend the needed parts as there are:
- triggerwheel
- sensor mounting bracket
- intake manifolt
- injectors, fuelrail and pressure reguator
- throttle body
- lost of wire and connectors
- air filter box
- idle air valve
The donor engine is a M20B20 motronic from a E30.

The Throttle position sensor for Motronic cannot be used because it only gives a contact at closed or wide open throttle. Ebay gave me a new one that fits on the throttle shaft and gives a signal analog to the position, only need to make a suitable bracket.

The Triggerwheel sensor (VR) wasn't on the donor engine, so i needed a new one.
From ebay i purchased a sensor for the M52 engine, which is in fact a Hall sensor. A Hall sensor does not need a interface to clean up the signals, and thus makes life a little bit easier. This Hall Sensor turned out to be a perfect fit in the stock sensor mounting bracket.

Lots of info and pictures about my build can be found here:

Take your time for planning and gatherhing info and parts. Test whatever possible before modding your engine.

That's not a good fit for this project, but you could use an LM1815 circuit to build a conditioner for the BMW VR sensor.

It would work, but why not spend the extra $15 and start with a V3.0 board?

Um, there isn't a V1.3 board (except the MSPNPs).

I would be extremely shocked if it was the exact same tune file, but the trigger wheel settings may be close. Peugeots are extremely rare in the US; we have never had one in our shop. The final measure of if your trigger settings are correct will be to check with a timing light.
