1.8 zetec will not start
I have a Megasquirt 1 v3.0 mod for a 1.8 zetec blacktop.
I have followed the installation guide from this page.
when I run the starter engine, the tachometer in the computer shows 5000-7000 rpm.
The engine will not start. I have fuel, but the ignition does not seem to work.
can it be something whit the VR-sensor?

Hey. Now we'll see if it works better.
Should add that I am from Sweden, and may have trouble writing. But I'll do my best.
thanks so far for the help!

The MSQ is set up for EDIS. Are you using an EDIS module, or have you wired the VR sensor directly to the MS?

That MSQ file appears corrupt - can you save a new copy?

Re: 1.8 zetec will not start
I tried to start now after some small adjustments with the spark plug wires.
it started. very bad, however.
Should I try again and do a data log, if anyone has time to look at it?

Are you directly running high-current coils (e.g. a Ford coilpack) if yes, then you most certainly need dwell control.FilipD wrote:Should I have -fixed dwell- or -dwell controll-?

Re: 1.8 zetec will not start
as you can see is not my water temp gauge calibrated correctly. Is it possible to do in tunnerstudio or is it a hardware problem. Do I need to find another sensor?
it shows -24 degrees Celsius.
It is the original Zetec sensor that sat on the engine.
there is some manual, but the page won't open.
and here is som new datalog.
it runs a little better, but I turned off the engine. the engine continues to run up to over 3500 rpm. that's when I shut down.
