Hello all,
Im running ms1 on my 85 ae86 with a 4agte. Runs great and the ms is operating great. Im using the stock ignition with an msd coil. The ignitor seems to get very very hot. I turned the dwell down to 2.4ms from 3ms and its a little better but still hot. The guy helping me tune said the ignition is breaking down and i should do COP.
Now for the questions,
1. What do you guys have your dwell set at for this kinda setup(those who have it)?
2. Would an MSD SCI ignition be worth using on my setup and what would i need to do?
3. What is needed and how would i go about doing the COP conversion?

We used 4.5 ms dwell on Jerry's MR2. Make sure you have Spark Output Inverted set to No if using the usual 4AGE writeups.
The MSD 6 box would probably be unnecessary if everything is working well, but stock ignition modules for these cars are apparently rather expensive.
There's a lot of ways you could set up coil per plug. What main board do you have?
