That'll do it - known issue, known fix; rising once again from the depths to bite yet another user ...

Re: Vr troubles
Also going to swap out the lm2904 for the newer better chip
Re: Vr troubles
it looks like you fitted the grey pots with the molding to match the indicator, i have ran across some of these as backwards. try turning your pots fully clockwise once ad take a scope trace

Re: Vr troubles
ash, if I turn them fully clockwise the engine stalls so i'm guessing fitted the right way?
anyway I can check with a multimeter if these are right or wrong?
got 5 mins away from the other half tonight so can switch c31 and see what happens on the car finally

Re: Vr troubles
John, not sure what you mean by comments I just saw trigger points when I skim read it.
I know this scope isn't great, it's cheap and cheerful and tbh it shows patterns. MI would rather use the scopes I have at work for automotive stuff but my work won't let me take one home for the weekend.
From the beginning to now,
I've corrected c31 rating with the new schematic diagram on one of my units so far.
ordered a new U7 chips for both units to get rid of the lm2904's
Will keep them wired for msextra ms1 instructions of vroutinv
Tempted to remove c32 but cannot find the pros and cons of doing so, so say phase shift but no one confirmed if it does or not
This weekend I'll spend some more time setting it up

Re: Vr troubles
Right guys,
c31 swapped out for the right one,
d24 replaced with faster unit,
engine runs perfectly, tooth logger showing only 1 big bar and engine can rev!
heres a zero'd r56 scopeand a 7turn clockwise r56 scope
BUT
I now have a different issue! engine is cutting out, megasquirt leds are going nuts and there is a small spark under the larger db connector around the pins closer to tach select corner, not sure why but both my units are doing this altho one is untouched and was working fine
Could a faulty vr sensor or coil pack cause the sparks through the db connector?

Re: Vr troubles
Cutting out issue solved, still got old factory ecu in place, but I left the ht king lead attached to the dissy cap and this was the cause of my issue.
If I left the individual ht leads in the car would run fine megasquirt, then as I pulled all 4 off the dissy cap the car stalled and megasquirt started having a wobbly.
Removed the king lead problem solved.
Now to build a wasted spark tacho driver, diodes + zener. As the fuel pump relay is run via rpm reading. And I don't want to rewire the whole fuel pump system into megasquirt for now.
Can anyone look at the scope patterns and check this is nor finally correct many thanks
