EDIS offset?

Post by andy198712 »

Hi,

I have MS1 2.2 Extra running the ignition on my air-cooled beetle.

Curently i run a pulley that is drilled with 36 holes and has the missing tooth as two holes joined to make a slot, if this makes sense?

looks like this (temp sensor bracket) sensor at TDC location 12 O clock

Now with my new build i'm using the flywheel as my trigger, but my sensor is off to one side slightly, at about the 1pm location, if this makes sense?
Now does this mean i need to make my missing tooth or "slot" 90 degrees from this point right?
and write my ignition map as per normal.

OR

would i need to put in an offset setting?

OR

write my map but add X amount of degrees to every cell in the map?

Cheers

Andy

PS this is my flywheel, i'm just waiting to see which holes to slot

when the engine is at TDC the sensor looks at the hole where the string is, and i'm thinking i want to remove the bit of metal 90 degrees around where the little roll of metal is...
