Boost control mod non start

Post by 4DPerformance »

Right getting pissed now.

Second time i've fitted boost control to my ms1.

Second time its not worked!

So heres a picture of the wiring on the ecu,

Gate and Source joined with a 10k resistor.
Source lead goes to bottom of R43 same place as one of my bip373s.
Gate lead has 100r resistor under heatshrink - joins into proto board area and out underneath to JS2.
Drain goes down to proto board and then over to spr1, S12 is jumpered underneath to the proto board to the drain and spr1 leads
No diode fitted as per diyautotune as i'm using their mod kit and valve.

Its wired right as per the diagrams
Fet is mounted on mica and rubber insulator, checked and no continuity to earth on the tab.
There is no solder bridges on the boost mod.
The ecu runs fine until this mod is added.

So why, every time I fit this mod like the diagram does this stop the car starting?
I get no blinks of the outer leds for my 4 cylinder wasted spark A/B

If I cut the source earth lead the car starts straight back up perfectly fine!

FIXED!!!

For anyone reading this and having the same problem when using S12 for the 12v feed.

I moved the 12v/diode to pin 28 of the db37 connection then joined it to spr1 connection, issue solved.

Not sure why s12 wasn't good enough but it works now
