vw 2.0 16v abf ms1 v3 wasted spark

l have a 2 litre 16 valve abf running a ms1v3 board.
Problem is with the spark setup in tuner studio. What are the settings . Any help will be apreciated

Please post more details of the ignition type you're running - crank triggered or cam triggered? How many teeth on the wheel? Any large gaps?

It's a wasted spark setup direct coil drive (2x vb921) spark out a led 14 spark b, led 16.
Vr sensor (vr6 ) set for 60-2 generic wheel dual dizzy mode normal and wheel decoder 025 style

Crank triggered distrubutor less.
Problems
Rpm sig only reads when in stim mode
Spark out 1 vb921 (q16) over heating when plugged into coil pack.
No spark
No rpm

are you sure it is a VR ensor ? I'm sure stock ABF uses hall sensor..

100% sure double checked pinouts 1 vr+ to pin 24 ms 2 -ve to pin 8 ms 3 gnd to pin 8 ms
New sensor shows 300 rpm when cranking but only when in stim mode in spark settings

Its quite a common question, usually the problem is caused by mistaking VR for Hall and vise versa. There's a couple of other threads on this forum.

VW ABF motor 100% Hall type sensor on 60-2 wheel..

Use the Opto input make sure that you don't have the 0.22uf Cap (Dave Cap I think it's called) and no diodes. wire up as per manual.
