Iac valve / tip 120 install on ms1 v3 board
I am a little bit unsure about the install of the tip 120. I have searched the forum but can't seem to find an answer.
I have fitted it as per the ms build manual page 28 ie I have mounted it on the heat sink at q16 and soldered it to the q4 space the board.
Then I saw the ms extra manual page 6 which said make connections at q4, r39 install a diode between d8 and s12 and connect to the non banded side.
Do I need to change the way I installed tip120? If either way is possible which way is best?

There are two ways and they're about equal, except that it is advantageous to run the ground to a high current ground point like the ground at the bottom of R43.

Matt, thanks for your reply.
I am looking at page 6 of the ms extra v3.0 build manual and i see that in the pic r39 is installed. at the moment i have this jumpered; does this matter or should i fit r39?

There is no need to fit R39.
